WOMEN AGAINST STATE PENSION INEQUALITY - Peterborough Meeting
As a result of the way in which the 1995 Pension Act and the 2011 Pension Act were implemented women born in the 1950s (on or after 6 April 1951) have unfairly borne the burden of the increase to the State Pension Age.
Hundreds of thousands of women have had significant changes to the state pension age imposed on them with little or no notice. Implementation took place faster than promised which left no time to make alternative pension plans and retirement plans have been shattered with devastating consequences.
We are starting a Peterborough group to help inform women of this legislation and to take action to try and persuade the government to rethink the unduly short timescale planned for implementation.
If you are interested and would like to find out more please contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
You may think that you are the only woman locally affected by these changes but that is not the case – come and join with some other like minded people.
We will be meeting at 2pm on Saturday 28 July – Peterborough Telecoms Sports and Social Club, Saville Road, Westwood, Peterborough PE3 7PR (click for location - will open new tab))
