Many of us respond to news and current affairs with frustration and disagreement but also with delight and relief when we hear a sympathetic point of view. Our problem is to find an opportunity to carry the debate forward so that our own ideas are challenged and developed. This group aims to meet monthly to review a news and current affairs topic, with a member presenting and offering first thoughts on a press cutting or media clip and others contributing to subsequent discussion. Sessions run from 14.00 to 16.00 and include approximately 3 items, with the reviewers for each agreed in advance after the first meeting.
Details: We meet 14.00 to 16.00, 2 Earlswood, Orton Brimbles, Peterborough, PE2 5UG (01733 236241) every last Friday of the month.
