We vary our rides according to the weather conditions and the inclination of whoever is leading the ride that day. Distances vary between 25 miles and 35 Miles. We try to accommodate the needs of riders of different abilities;within the group we have people who are very able cyclists, and also those who are returning to cycling after absences of many years. We do not leave people behind if their choice is to cycle slowly, and anyone who has a puncture will find other members of the group very willing to help them .Occasionally, we will have a ‘short and easy’ ride, and at other times we have all day rides with a lunch break. We have cycled round Rutland Water a couple of times (though not, I hasten to add, on the same day). Rides are led by different members of the group, and people are very willing to offer hospitality if the group find themselves in the vicinity of their homes. The rides always involve a coffee stop, and on days when the wind is strong, the coffee stop has been known to be longer than the ride.
If you have seen a motley group of people in late middle age (I am being polite here) cycling in the Peterborough area on a Monday morning, it is probably us, and if you would like to join us, you will be welcome.
