Railways Studies Group

PETERBOROUGH U3A RAILWAYS STUDIES GROUP

The group aims to cater for a wide range of railway-related interests, including historical development, impact of railways on the social, economic and physical environment, preservation, rail travel, railway infrastructure, etc. The programme for 2018-19 encompasses a number of presentations, some delivered by guest experts and others by group members. It is hoped, too, that members can be motivated to undertake research to extend knowledge of particular aspects of railway development, notably of the local network. An integral part of the group's activities will be visits to some of the many sites of railway interest within easy travelling distance of Peterborough.

Meetings held 3rd Tuesday of each month September to June inclusive, between 14.00 and 16.00 at Peterborough & District Indoor Bowling Centre, Burton Street, Peterborough, PE1 5HA.
