ACTIVITIES DAY 2017

18TH AUGUST 2017

@ THE FLEET (ITALIAN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION)
FLEET WAY, PETERBOROUGH PE2 8DL.

DOORS OPEN : 11am

MEMBERSHIP QUERIES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE
BEFORE 11AM IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

NEAREST BUS ROUTE : No5

Both members and potential new members are invited to join us at The Fleet.

Our Activities Day is a once a year “happening” where people can see what the Peterborough U3A can offer retired and semi-retired people in the way of activities to keep both mind and body in shape.

We have display stands this year for things from Archaeology to Yoga and around 75 (out of our 160) groups represented on stands. So come along to see if anything grabs your interest.

There will be live displays spread throughout the day by such groups as Belly Dancing, Ukulele Playing, Line Dancing, Poetry writing/reading and Line Dancing.

There is an opportunity to both renew existing membership and take out new membership for those not yet part of our happy band

There is a tea room running for refreshments at reasonable charges – tea/coffee + (hopefully) sandwiches etc.

Many Group Leaders are there to give you more information about their activities, and most of the Committee Members are also there to chat about the organisation or other groups we run that are not represented on the day.

We open at 11:00 am for general admission.

Group Leaders will be able to set up their stands from 10am - however Membership Renewals will not start until 11:00 for ANYBODY as the people dealing will not be fully set up until then.

Car parking is always busy at The Fleet, if possible we would advise car-sharing or public transport – the Bus Route No 5 is the closest service.  If you do come by car we have "parking assistants" on duty to help keep order - please bear with them as they are doing the best for everyone with limited space.  We would also remind you that if you park in side roads be considerate to residents and be aware of emergency vehicle access in narrow roads.

As usual we have invited the local Mayor as our guest dignitary.

We look forward to seeing as many existing and new members as possible for a fun and informative day.
